Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will show the 2006 movie Strike in the continuing program Movies with a Message series. The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. Refreshments will be served, and there will be discussion time after the movie. A freewill donation is requested.
“Strike” is based on a true story about a single-parent mother working in a shipyard in Poland. She courageously stands up to the Soviet Union and helps to inspire the Solidarity movement that helped Polish workers obtain better working conditions. Run time is 104 minutes.
The last movie in this series for the year will be “Monsieur Vincent” (1947) on Dec. 6.
