Pilot flips plane at Ellsworth Airport

ELLSWORTH — A fixed-wing aircraft crashed Thursday at the Ellsworth Municipal Airport as the pilot was attempting to land. The pilot was not injured.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Adam R. Martin, 21, of Baldwin City was flying the 2000 Cessna single-engine plane. At 4:14 p.m. he was coming in for landing on Runway 35 when the aircraft drifted to the left. The left rear tire caught a snowbank as Martin attempted to go around, pulling the nose down.
