Pork Association sponsoring blood drive

For the second year, the Kansas Pork Association is sponsoring several blood drives throughout Kansas with a goal of collecting 150 pints of blood. Because each pint could help save up to three lives, up to 450 patients could benefit.
The blood drive in Great Bend will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 6 at St. Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker Ave.

Nazarene Church to hold car wash

The First Church of the Nazarene’s children’s ministries will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Great Bend Appliance and Furniture Store parking lot, 2301 10th St. Lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available.Money raised at this fundraiser will be used for children’s camps, quizzing and other projects and activities.
