Barton’s instrumental music instructor Steven Lueth invites all area musicians high school age or older to join the Prairie Winds Community Concert Band. No audition is necessary, only that they enjoy playing concert band literature, Lueth said.

The band rehearses from 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays during the fall semester in the BCC Band Room, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-20.

The band will perform during the music department’s Sneak Preview set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and will present a winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, both in the BCC Fine Arts Auditorium.

Anyone interested should attend the next rehearsal set for Thursday, Sept. 1. The band will not have rehearsals on four Thursdays during the semester. Those dates are Aug. 25, Sept. 15, Oct. 20 and Nov. 3.
