The Great Bend Recreation Commission will offer the free program, “Pre-Winter Pond Care,” from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Carl Soden Recreation Center,  1214 Stone St.  Speaker Shawna Beran will explain steps needed to get ponds ready for winter, and will answer questions.
