"Fighting Cancer With A Knife And Fork" will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St., and at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.

This free Stop ’N Learn program is offered by the Great Bend Recreation Commission. Lori Shoemaker, Rice County Extension agent, will explain the importance of eating nutritious food to help fight cancer. Adding more colorful, nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables and whole grains is not only full of health benefits, but can also taste great, Shoemaker says.
