Editor’s note: An early report from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office contained errors, which were published in the Great Bend Tribune. This is the updated information:

Two Pawnee Rock residents were injured in a rollover accident at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 56 near Dundee. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports a Ford Fusion driven by Deric M. Jean, 35, Great Bend, and a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Jerry L. Cossman, 48, Pawnee Rock, were both eastbound when Cossman made an abrupt turn off the roadway. Jean attempted to turn off the highway to avoid the pickup and struck it, causing the pickup to turn onto its side.

Cossman and his passenger, Ruth A. McKeen, were transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Jean and all four passengers in the Fusion were examined and released at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation by the BCSO.
