Sheriff Greg Armstrong announced that the Barton County Sheriff’s Office will be taking over the VIN program again, as noted in Tuesday’s Great Bend Tribune.

The sheriff’s office will resume the service of checking Vehicle Identification Numbers next Tuesday, Feb. 22, with the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1-5 p.m. on Thursdays. Bring vehicles to the Barton County Jail, 1416 Kansas Ave. the building south of the Sheriff’s Office. The cost for inspections is $10.

VIN inspections are required when a title is transferred from an out-of-state sale.
