DODGE CITY — SouthWest Kansas Area Agency on Aging will host the 2013 Senior Boomer Expo, Thursday, April 25, at the Dodge City Civic Center. This year’s Expo theme, “Unleash the Power of Age,” is the opening event for celebrating Older American’s Month and is free to the public.
The opening ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. with the reading of the opening proclamation declaring May to be Older Americans Month. Businesses and social service agencies will have booths. Featured participants will include ElderCare Inc. executive director Janet Splitter, Ph. D., R.D., L.D., and Ethel Schneweis from the K-State Extension who will present the Lunch and Learn. Entertainment in the afternoon will be followed by the “Mega Bingo Blackout” where one senior, 60 or older, will walk away with a $300 cash prize, and an ice cream social.
