The Barton Community College Board of Trustees has scheduled a series of meetings designed to strengthen ties within the college’s service area. The first of these "linkage" meetings, with superintendents from unified school districts, will take place during the next regular board meeting, set for 4 p.m. Thursday in room F-30 of the Fine Arts building. This room, also known as the Seminar Room, will now become the regular meeting place for trustees. Previously, most meetings were held in the Student Union.

Superintendents Tom Vernon, USD 428 Great Bend; Ben Jacobs, USD 355 Ellinwood; Bill Lowry, USD 431 Hoisington; and Gary Sechrist, USD 405 Lyons, plan to attend Thursday’s meeting, according to agenda information. Future meetings are planned with legislators, and individual board members plan to attend upcoming meetings of some of the college’s advisory boards.

Also on Thursday’s meeting agenda is the approval of new personnel.
