There are still a few openings for the Kansas Wetland Education Center’s Feb. 11 winter kid’s program, “Winter’s Deep Sleep”. Designed for children ages 6 through 12, the program runs from 10-11 a.m. at no charge.
From insects to mammals, animals have developed many ways to survive winter’s cold. Spend some time with a few of the critters from Cheyenne Bottoms, learn their winter secrets and make your own thirteen-lined ground squirrel – a super hibernator.
Children age 7 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Registration deadline is Feb. 8. To register for classes, or for more information, call 620-786-7456 or 1-877-243-9268.
