Time to sign up for winter program

There are still a few openings for the Kansas Wetland Education Center’s Feb. 11 winter kid’s program, “Winter’s Deep Sleep”. Designed for children ages 6 through 12, the program runs from 10-11 a.m. at no charge.
From insects to mammals, animals have developed many ways to survive winter’s cold. Spend some time with a few of the critters from Cheyenne Bottoms, learn their winter secrets and make your own thirteen-lined ground squirrel – a super hibernator.
Children age 7 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Registration deadline is Feb. 8. To register for classes, or for more information, call 620-786-7456 or 1-877-243-9268.

Nazarene Church to hold car wash

The First Church of the Nazarene’s children’s ministries will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Great Bend Appliance and Furniture Store parking lot, 2301 10th St. Lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available.Money raised at this fundraiser will be used for children’s camps, quizzing and other projects and activities.
