The Great Bend Recreation Commission, along with Donna Krug, FCS Agent at Barton County Extension office, will host a Walk Kansas informational meeting from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St. The public is invited to attend and learn about Walk Kansas, an eight-week program where teams of six form to collectively walk 423 miles — the distance across Kansas.

During Wednesday’s program participants will learn what it takes to get a team together, how to report miles walked or the equivalent amount of exercise, and anything else they would need to know about the Walk Kansas Program that is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
