Two youths were taken to Russell Regional Hospital after two vehicles collided on Interstate 70 in Russell County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol online crash logs, Jeremy Lee Karnopp, 27, from Hill City, was driving a Chrysler Sebring convertible and Tina Charon Goldsmith, 34, from Glen St. Mary, Fla., was driving a Chevy van at 9 p.m. Sunday; both were westbound when Karnopp’s car, which was in the left lane, began to drift to the left. He overcorrected and the car struck the van on the driver’s side. The van then skidded sideways, rolled and came to rest on its wheels. Neither driver was injured, but two children in the van were taken to the hospital. Two other children in the van were not injured.

All of the passengers in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
