The Great Bend fire Department has issued an open burning restriction. The restricted areas include the City of Great Bend and the four contracting townships of South Bend, Great Bend, Liberty and Buffalo.
The burn restriction includes all open flames, outdoor fire pits, chimeneas and controlled burns.
“We feel the dry conditions warrant the burn restrictions and we hope to lift the restrictions once it rains,” Fire Chief Luke McCormick said.
