Catbacker scholarship recipients

In 2016, the Central Kansas Catbackers created a scholarship program for local students that plan to attend Kansas State University as freshmen in the fall. The committee awarded four $1,000 scholarships this year.

The following four recipients of the 2026-2027 Central Kansas Catbacker Scholarship are:

  • Allie Gerhardt, graduate of Great Bend High School. Allie is the daughter of Shannon Towns and Aaron Gerhardt. Allie will pursue degrees in Integrative Physiology and Kinesiology.
  • MacKenzie Lindberg, graduate of Great Bend High School. MacKenzie is the daughter of Nels and Karen Lindberg. MacKenzie will pursue a degree in Life Sciences.
  • Katherine Mazouch, graduate of Great Bend High School. Katherine is the daughter of Michael and Lindsay Mazouch. Katherine will pursue a degree in Life Sciences.
  • Braxton Alpers, graduate of St. John High School. Braxton is the son of Tyler and Leah Alpers. Braxton will pursue a degree in Agriculture Economics.
