Area communities are looking to the weekend for Easter events. Below is a brief listing of events for the weekend: 

Pawnee County

In Larned, Pawnee Valley Community Hospital is hosting an egg decorating extravaganza on Saturday, March 30 at the hospital located at 923 Carroll Ave. in Larned.

An egg decorating station will be set up filled with coloring and other supplies to create an Easter Egg masterpiece from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The Easter Bunny will also be making an appearance.

The Larned Pride organization is hosting an Easter Egg hunt for youth aged 13 and under on Saturday at Northside Fields, 1604 State St. in Larned.

Diversicare’s Easter Egg Hunt, at 1114 W. 11th St., Larned, begins at 2 p.m.

In Burdett, eggs, candy and fun starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Burdett City Park.

Registration for the Egg Hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. for youth fifth grade and under. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at noon followed by games and a bounce house.

On Easter Sunday, the Santa Fe Trail Center is hosting a sunrise service at the SFTC’s historic Escue Chapel on the grounds at 1349 K-156. The service begins at 7 a.m., with First Southern Baptist Church Pastor John Paulson officiating.

Ellinwood

The Lions Club’s Easter Candy Scramble for youth aged toddler through fourth grade is Saturday at the Ellinwood City Park.

Participants are asked to report at the swimming pool parking lot by 1 p.m.

Hoisington

Hoisington’s Credo Senior Living center is hosting an Easter Egg hunt Saturday, March 30 at 259 W. Sixth St., Hoisington.

There’s a chance to see the Easter Bunny, refreshments will be served. Age-specific hunting areas for ages 0-3 and 4-8 on up.
