Justice Center move-in next week
It has been a long wait, but the Great Bend Police Department and Municipal Court will finally be taking up residence in the city’s new Justice center at 12th and Baker, Police Chief Steve Haulmark said, speaking to the City Council Monday night.
“I’m excited to tell you that we’re planning tentatively to begin moving into our new building next Thursday,” he said. “There’s still a few things that need to be completed, but they’re not stopping them from moving.”
His department along with other city personnel will handle the majority of the work, he said. Gentlemen Moving of Great Bend will tackle the bigger things.
Ground was broken for the nearly $9 million, 20,000-square-foot facility on Sept. 12, 2022. Great Bend voters in November 2021 approved a 0.10% sales tax to help fund the nearly $9 million project.
