PAWNEE COUNTY — The annual Salvation Army Fund Drive ramps up Monday, Nov. 27, in Pawnee County when volunteer bell ringers, aside their red kettles, are set to greet shoppers at Dillons in Larned.

The 2023 edition of the annual drive actually began with red kettle appearances on Nov. 20, noted Linda Wyman, president of the county’s Ministerial Association Benevolence Board.

Wyman noted that additional volunteers are still needed to fully-staff the bell-ringing hours of 3-7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays. The drive ends Friday, Dec. 22.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Wyman at 620-285-3449.

Last year’s drive raised $4,300 for the Salvation Army’s ministry to Pawnee County residents. The Benevolence Board works on behalf of the Ministerial Association of Pawnee County overseeing the work of the local Food Pantry, Helping Hands Ministry and Salvation Army funds.
