TOPEKA – Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt today announced that the Family Crisis Center in Great Bend has been awarded grants totaling $89,781 for its victims’ service programs.
The grants awarded will fund the following projects:
• $25,000 to provide forensic interviews and advocacy services in a child friendly setting for victims of child abuse and their non-offending caregivers. This grant funds 50% of the family advocate position.
• $24,886 to provide forensic interviews and advocacy services in a child friendly setting for victims of child abuse and their non-offending caregivers. This grant funds 50% of the family advocate position.
• $39,895 to provide comprehensive services to all survivors of domestic and sexual violence, their families and friends through supervision, financial management and administrative oversight.
“The work of our victims service organizations throughout the state ensure that services are available to crime victims in their hour of need,” Schmidt said. “We are proud to support the work of these organizations through the victims services grant programs in our office.”
These grants were awarded from the State Crime Victims’ Assistance Fund for Child Abuse and Neglect, the State Crime Victims’ Assistance Fund and the Protection from Abuse Fund.
This year, the Attorney General’s Office awarded $2.375 million in grants to local and state crime victim assistance organizations.
AG announces grants for Great Bend organization
