Blinking stop light at Broadway and Williams has electronic issue

While drivers are patiently waiting at the corner of Broadway and Williams at what has now become a four way stop due to the stop light continually blinking red, the streets department has been checking on the problem.
The part that controls the change of the light from green to yellow to red is electronic and has been in place for several years. The problem began last Thursday.
“The controller is showing it has a fault,” said Mike Crawford, supervisor from the Street Department. They have a call in to the manufacturer about the issue, but the manufacturer wants to wait until the extreme cold breaks to see if the issue is weather related.
Crawford said if the part has to be replaced, it will cost several thousands of dollars.
“We’ll get it up and running,” said Crawford.
