It is certain that there will be at least one new face on the Great Bend City Council after the April 3 city elections.
When the books closed at noon, Tuesday, Ward 1 Councilman Bill Berryman did not file for reelection, according to City Clerk Wayne Henneke.
And there will be races in three of the four city wards, Henneke reported.
Filing in Ward 1 were Nels Lindberg and Jan Farmer.
In Ward 2, Incumbent Councilman Joel Jackson will be challenged by Marty Keenan.
Incumbent Ward 3 Councilman Ken Roberts will be challenged by Thomas Boor.
And Ward 4 Councilman Randy Myers is unchallenged.
In addition to the Great Bend City Council races, County Clerk Donna Zimmerman reported earlier that there will also be city elections in Ellinwood and Hoisington on April 3, and there will be an election for Ellinwood Hospital District Board trustees.
