The Barton County Historical Society’s annual meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 27. Prior to the meeting, a catered dinner will be available at 6:30 p.m. from the Wheatland Cafe by reservation only. Those who have not made reservations should do so Wednesday or Thursday by calling 793-5125 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The cost will be $10, payable at the door.
 The annual meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Scott Solether will provide entertainment and some Kansas history.
Paid members for 2014 may vote by voice or written ballot.
Members and potential members are invited to attend. The historical society is located just south of the Arkansas River Bridge on U.S. 281.
