The Barton Community College theater department will hold its last performance of the school year at the Thespian Showcase at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Barton theater students will perform monologues, scenes, musical theater, improvisation and original work. Theater Director Erin Renard said her department will hand out year-end acting and technical awards. A reception will follow the performances and ceremony.
“The Barton Theater Thespian Showcase is an integral part of our two-year theater program,” Renard said of the event. “It allows for student creativity, leadership, nurturing of talent and provides an alternative atmosphere for performance. The Showcase is also part of our year-end Barton theater award ceremony where theater students are recognized for their excellence in stage and technical work during the academic year.”
