There’s still time to sign up for the Kansas Wetland Education Center’s Feb. 4 winter kid’s program, “Feathered Frenzy.”
Designed for children ages 6 through 12, the program runs from 10-11 a.m. at no charge.
People find feathers fun and colorful but for birds, they are essential for survival and flight, providing warmth, waterproofing and even a poisonous shield for some species.
Discover what makes feathers special for birds and people, play a feather game or two and create a feather bookmark to take home.
Children age 7 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration deadline is Feb. 1. To register for classes, or for more information, call 620-786-7456 or 1-877-243-9268.
