Great Bend Tribune Managing Editor Dale Hogg, left, makes his move during a game of giant checkers on the Barton County Courthouse lawn Wednesday afternoon as his opponent, Eagle Radio News Director Neil Ochs plans his strategy. The over-sized checker board will be one of several large games set up on the square during June Jaunt Friday, May 31, through Sunday, June 2. The games, also including Jenga and Twister, will be available free to the public on Saturday. Other highlights include May 31sts Kansas Speedweek Cruise Night and free movie, both at the square, and about 50 different events scheduled for the weekend. Hogg went on to win the match.
