Great Bend High School will celebrate its 2014 Fall Homecoming Friday. Activities get underway in the afternoon and run through the evening.
The day starts at 8 a.m. at GBHS with a pep assembly. Then, at 2:30 p.m., all students will be dismissed and the homecoming parade down Main Street will begin at 3 p.m.
There will not be a pep rally at Jack Kilby Square following the parade. High school entries will return to the high school following the parade and all other entries will return to the parking lot on the west side of the Wetland Aquatic Park. Parents will need to pick up elementary students in that lot following the parade.
Crowning of Homecoming king and queen will be at 6:30 p.m. at GBHS’s Memorial Stadium. Kickoff for the football game pitting the Panthers against the Wichita North Redskins will be at 7 p.m.
In addition, the GBHS Madrigal Singers will hold a chili supper fundraiser from 5-7 p.m. in the high school commons area. Tickets are $6 at the door.
However, there will be no homecoming dance following the game. As reported in the Tribune Tuesday, parents and students decided to hold bonfire on Oct. 30 instead.
