As snow returned to the community on Tuesday, it may not have seemed like spring is just around the corner, and, as the Great Plains is known to show, it may not be.
But it’s not all that far off, either, and city officials are making plans for the events that are coming with the warm weather, and this year that includes operation of the new baseball complex in Great Bend.
Part of the work that needs to be done to get that facility up and running is to make sure that when people are out there, they can buy concessions.
Great Bend Human Resources Director Terry Hoff explained he’s currently seeking proposals from parties interested in running the concessions.
Those interested can get information on the guidelines at the city office, 1205 Williams.
The guidelines will provide information on the requirements for anyone interested in running the concessions, Hoff explained.
Proposals have to be submitted by Feb. 17.
Then they will be reviewed by a committee and a concessionaire will be chosen.
Who ever takes on the project will need to be ready to keep the concessions open from April through the end of the ball season and that could be into October, Hoff explained.
Anyone needing more information can contact Hoff, 793-4111.
