With the second annual Hahn Brothers Supercross Shootout coming to Great Bend this Saturday and Sunday, motocross promoters Wil and Tommy Hahn spent a couple of hours in Jack Kilby Square on Thursday evening. The free meet and greet was an opportunity for fans to get autographs or to be photographed with the Hahns and their motorcycles. Several tickets to the races were also given away.
Sponsored by Bass-X, Thursday’s event also allowed kids to try out remote control cars on a course set up near the bandstand. Bass-X even decorated special Wil and Tommy RC cars and had the brothers race. Wil won.
The Supercross Shootout is being held in conjunction with the Big Bend Motorcycle Rally, which will take place Saturday at the Great Bend Expo.
Gates for the race weekend will be open Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and again on Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon, although racing is expected to continue until 5 or 6 p.m. on Sunday. General admission to the motocross race is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Because the event is on the same premises as the Big Bend Bike Rally, spectators for the motocross race can enjoy the rally entertainment as well.
