June events at Great Bend Public Library

Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will offer the following programs in June:

• Summer Reading activities begin Monday, June 10. Registration for all ages will open that day. The children’s department will have its kick-off party at 3:30 p.m. Dan Dan the Magic man will perform a magic show that fits in with the Dig Into Reading! Summer Reading Club theme. Students in grades 7-12 can register for the Beneath the Surface Teen summer reading program and adults 18 and older can start submitting books they read for the Groundbreaking Reads program.
• Game Day - 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the Children’s Department. Video games and board games.
• Family Movie Night - 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15. For evening movies, the north doors of the library will open to the public at 6:45 p.m. and close at 7:10 p.m. Movie titles will be announced by the day of a showing on the library’s Facebook page at facebook.com/teensgbpl and on the teen page of the library website, greatbendpl.info.
• Teen Movie Monday - 3 p.m. Monday, June 17. All teen activities open to students in grades 7-12.
• Teen Game Day - 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.
• Touch-a-Truck - 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, in the library parking lot.  See trucks from various businesses and services in town. Snacks will be provided.
• Teen Movie Wednesday - 3 p.m. June 19.
• Teen craft activity: DIY Comic Book Coasters - 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20.
• Presentation by Pam Martin from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center - 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22. There will also be a craft activity.
• Adults’ Night Out Movie: “Stand Up Guy” - 7 p.m. June 22. Free movie and popcorn; must be 18 years of age or older.
