Dressed in all of their finery, 16 Hoisington Labor Day baby contestants laughed, waved and enjoyed the fascinating stage balloons on Saturday as a part of the 114th annual Hoisington Labor Day celebration.
Winners of the contest were Madison Rae Henning, the daughter of Shelli Stoss and Brandon Henning, and Logan James Wagner, the son of Cory and Jatim Wagner.
They each received $100 cash, a $100 cash bond, and a memento.
The criteria for choosing the winners were a photo, cash contributions, stage presence and appearance.
Madison is twelve months old and wore a homemade dress that her mother wore when she was a contestant in the Hoisington Labor Day baby contest. Logan likes to be outside with the farm animals and on the tractor.
The first runner-up in the baby girl contest was Dylan Lea Stone, the daughter of Shelby and Stacie Stone, and the second runner-up was Eliza Ann Jeffrey, the daughter of Kyle and Nichole Jeffrey.
The first runner up in the baby boy contest was Peyton Michael Lomas, the son of Nick and Annie Lomas, and the second runner-up was Knoxly Kole Nettleingham the son of Lexi Nettleingham and Landon Adee.
The judges for the contest were Wendy Carr, Sarah Kaiser and Teresa Hickel. Charly Conrad sang two songs for the crowd.
