One Great Bend man died and another Great Bend man was seriously injured Monday as the result of an oilfield accident in Trego County.
Todd White, 50, was an operator for D&S Casing Crews in Great Bend. His obituary appears on page 3 of today’s Great Bend Tribune.
Trego County Sheriff Richard Hanks confirmed there was an oilfield accident Monday but declined to disclose additional information. “I’m not releasing anything,” Hanks said.
Another D&S Caring Crews employee, Charles McHenry, 24, is at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. According to his wife, Linsey McHenry, an Eagle Med air ambulance took him from the accident site to Hays Medical Center, and from there he was flown to Wichita. He’s expected to undergo knee surgery on Friday.
On Tuesday afternoon she described his condition as stable. “It’s looking very good.”
A company spokesman confirmed White had been killed in an accident west of Hays but had no other comment on the accident.
