Pink Out returns
celebration
Barton Community College students turned out for the 2nd Annual Pink Out game Wednesday night between the Cougars and the Hutchinson Dragons. In addition to a show of support for cancer research, the sea of pink-shirted Cougar fans feigned boredom and disinterest in their rivals as they were introduced, chanting Whos that? and What? after the starters were introduced. As the Cougars raced onto the court, fans stood and threw newspaper confetti and cheered wildly. Barton County cheerleaders impressed the crowd with several builds with acrobatic dismounts. The game was a tense one at times, as tempers flared and several personal and technical fouls were called. A narrow point spread of no more than five points at any time kept fans on the edges of their seats until the final surge by the Dragons to try to even the score. Fans rushed from the stands to congratulate the Cougars on a well-fought victory and a heroic celebration. - photo by VERONICA COONS Great Bend Tribune
