A woman reports being held against her will for more than a day and sexually assaulted by several men, according to Great Bend Police Detective David Bailey.
The victim contacted police around 1 p.m. on Saturday, after she escaped and fled to a safe location. Officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect residence at 1816 Hubbard St., and executed the warrant at 5:20 p.m. No suspects were located at that time, but narcotics were seized.
Det. Bailey was cautious about answering questions at this stage of the investigation. He said the crime began “early Friday” and the victim was acquainted with at least one of the suspects.
Suspected crimes include aggravated kidnapping, rape, criminal sodomy and narcotics violations. “There could be more charges filed,” he added.
“If someone knows something, hopefully they’ll notify us,” Bailey said. The telephone number for the Great Bend Police Department is 793-4120.
