Crime Stoppers is offering a larger than normal reward for information on the attack of a 24-year-old woman, Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings said.

The woman was walking in the 5200 block of Eisenhower St. between 4:45 and 5:15 a.m. when two men in a dark colored, older car assaulted her.

"They took her down and removed her pants. They threatened to cut her throat," Akings said, speaking for Crime Stoppers. "She fought them off and successfully got away. They did strike her in (the) face and bruise her.

"If anyone witnessed any part of this crime, please call 792-1300 or 888-305-1300," Akings continued. "A larger than normal reward will be paid to put these two away. Remember, we don’t want your name, just your information."

Calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous, but callers are given instructions on how they can receive a cash award if their information leads to an arrest.
