The Barton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the 11th-annual Kids Camp.
“Kids Camp is an excellent opportunity for the youth of the community who are interested in law enforcement to become acquainted with the men and women who serve and protect the public,” said Sheriff Brian Bellendir. Kids Camp is a day-long activity for youth between the ages of 8 and 14 that will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at the BCSO range.
Several law enforcement topics are covered including firearms and firearm safety, the K-9 unit, car stops, the crisis response team as well as other topics. The Kansas Department of wildlife and Parks will be on hand and Life Team will  be landing a helicopter.
The cost is $15 per participant. Enrollment is open until Sept. 3. Space is limited so register early. Contact Denise Karst at the BCSO, 1416 Kansas Ave., or call 620-793 – 1876.
