Russell man injured in US 281 accident

A Russell man was injured Tuesday when the Peterbilt truck he was driving went off U.S. 281 in Barton County.

Daniel Jacob Casper, 45, was taken to Clara Barton Hospital with undetermined injuries, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported in its online crash logs.

Casper was driving south at 12:48 p.m. and was about 10 miles northwest of Hoisington went the rig left the road for unknown reasons. The truck hit a power pole and continued through a fence into a field west of the highway. The driver was wearing a seat belt.
