Guns that were reportedly stolen during burglaries in Ness County and Dodge City were recovered Friday in Great Bend.
The Great Bend Police Department issued a statement Monday morning, saying arrests are pending.
GBPD’s Detective Division was contacted last Thursday by a victim from Ness County. That person reported firearms had been stolen from a Ness County business during a burglary.
The victim reported seeing items possibly from their burglary for sale on the Internet. On Friday, GBPD detectives made contact with a possible suspect at Walmart and obtained the confirmed stolen weapon.
Officers then obtained a search warrant for 1809 Jackson St. They later obtained a warrant to search 3108 18th St., where they recovered a weapon believed to have been stolen from Dodge City.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the GBPD Detective Division, 793-4120, or call Crime Stoppers, 792-1300.
