Last month, Xi Delta Upsilon sorority in Barton County kicked off their first Bras for a Cause bra drive, uncertain how well it would be received. As it turns out, their cups overfloweth.
“We collected hundreds of bras,” Kathy Foster, a sorority spokesperson said. “There were too many to count.”
Many of the donations will stay in Great Bend, going to the Family Crisis Center and the Heartland Cancer Center. Others will be delivered to the Cancer Research Center in Arizona, where they will be sorted and sent where they are needed, Foster said.
“This would not have been possible without the help of the local media, the businesses that stepped up to provide drop-off boxes, and the people who donated their bras for the cause,” Foster said.
