The holidays are approaching, and the Great Bend-Brit Spaugh Zoo has its Happy Holidays message up. Brit Spaugh Park features the Wild Lights portion of Great Bend’s Trail of Lights.
Inside the zoo, there is a giving tree for people who want to buy a Christmas present for an animal. You can’t really give a bear a hug, but there are gift tags of various prices representing enrichment items which may be purchased for the animals. Gifts range from treats to balls and other toys that bears, lions and other critters at the zoo might enjoy.
Year-round opportunities for giving or volunteering are available. Ask at the reception desk about joining the Great Bend Zoological Society or other programs.
