First Presbyterian Church and First Christian UCC Church in Great Bend are joining forces to reach out in mission. Both Barton County Emergency Aid and Fair Trade producers will benefit from sales today (Friday) and Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 24th and Washington.
The two-day sale will begin this afternoon, from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m., and resume on Saturday morning, June 21 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. A variety of gently used fiction and nonfiction books and magazine bundles will be sold for $1 or less by members of the First Presbyterian Church, with the proceeds going to Barton County Emergency Aid.
Choices of Fair Trade coffee, tea and chocolate will be available for purchase from members of the First Christian UCC Church, with the benefit of fair prices and wages going to agricultural workers around the world.
