Two vehicles collide on county road

Vehicles driven by Doyle Stout, 40, of Great Bend, and Robert Dunavan, 68, of Pawnee Rock, collided Saturday at SW 60 Ave. and SW 30 Road.

According to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. when Stout, traveling south in a Dodge pickup, said he slid on the gravel and went through the stop sign, hitting the Buick Park Avenue driven by Dunavan in the driver’s side door.

The airbags deployed in the Dunavan vehicle, and passenger Janice Dunavan complained of chest, shoulder and arm pain, but refused treatment at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Stout and the Dunavans were wearing seat belts. Ian Stout, a 13-year-old passenger in the pickup, was not wearing a seat belt.

Vehicular burglaries reported

Multiple vehicular burglaries were reported to the Great Bend Police Department last Saturday.

Someone broke into a car at 401 Almond St. and took a stereo faceplate, then broke the back window. Someone broke into a vehicle at 413 Cedar St., taking a stereo, speakers, amplifier and tool box. A JVC car stereo was reported stolen from 301 Almond St. A window was broken on a vehicle at 320 Plum St. A Pyle stereo was stolen from a vehicle at 416 Cedar St., and someone broke the back window to a vehicle at 308 Plum St.

Someone took a Sony stereo and a drill from a pickup parked at 313 Almond St. Loss was $675.

A window was broken on a pickup at 2903 21st St. Theft of a tag from a vehicle at 2907 21st St. was reported Saturday.

Someone stole the faceplate and speakers to a Sony stereo at 300 Plum St. Loss was $700.

On Sunday morning, a resident at 2101 Madison St. reported someone damaging property in her yard sometime Saturday night, and at 1035 Madison, someone took a desk that was in the yard and put it in a car at that address. The car was not damaged, however.

Barton County Sheriff

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a vehicle in the 100 block of South Washington Ave. at 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

The mayor of Pawnee Rock reported someone pulled up a stop sign and threw it into his yard, and someone shot out a street light in the 600 block of Cunnife St.

Criminal damage to property at 4 NW 30 Road was reported Sunday.

Someone shot out lights on both sides of the Ellinwood bridge at SE 115 Ave. and SE 30 Road.

Great Bend Police

Jessica Gregger was westbound on 10th St. changing lanes and struck a vehicle driven by Richard S. Riccardi in the 2300 block at noon on Friday.

A taillight on a Jeep at 5855 Aspen Drive was broken, it was reported Friday.

Vehicles driven by Oliver Batman and Erik Von holstein-Rathlou collided at 4 p.m. Saturday at 24th St. and K-96.

Jason Weaver was driving east in the 3200 block of Lakin Ave. at 6:16 p.m. Saturday when he dropped his cell phone, reached to get it and swerved, hitting a legally parked vehicle, which hit a third vehicle, which hit a fourth vehicle.
