A Pawnee Rock man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine Monday after a traffic stop conducted by the Barton County Sheriff’s Office. A BCSO patrol sergeant stopped a 1997 Chevrolet Venture driven by Corban Cale, age 30, at 11:30 p.m. in the 10 block of Southwest 110 Avenue for an alleged traffic violation. According to Sheriff Brian Bellendir, the sergeant became suspicious of drug activity and the Sheriff’s Office K9 Maxx and handler were called to the scene.

“Maxx alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle,” Bellendir stated. “Further investigation revealed Cale was in possession of methamphetamine (and) drug paraphernalia as well as items used to distribute methamphetamine.”

He was arrested without incident and transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
