A St. John motorist was injured Thursday when he pulled into the path of a northbound semitrailer in Stafford County. Barry C. Ragan, 78, was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with what were believed to be serious injuries, accord to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Ragan was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry and stopped at the stop sign on 4th Avenue in St. John at 12:37 p.m. He pulled onto U.S. 281 as a 2014 Kenworth driven by Terry Gene Bomhak, 58, of El Reno, Oklahoma, was approaching from the south. The car hit the passenger side of the Kenworth. Bomhak had no apparent injury.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
