Crime Stoppers seeks help solving burglaries

Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings, speaking for Crime Stoppers, released the following information on two recent burglaries in Great Bend.
A residence at 1700 Third St. was burglarized between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 9. Two guitars were taken – a white one and a Budweiser guitar with red and black flames. Also taken were a guitar case, Peavy amplifier, double-edged sword, Sony PlayStation 3, Radio Shack speaker with subwoofer, a new cell phone and a Miller mig welder. Loss was $3,600.
A Coach-brand purse was stolen from a garage at 5000 Timber Creek sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 and 8:20 a.m. on Oct. 17. Other items taken were a Brighten key chain, cash, credit cards, billfold, checks and some clothing items. Loss was $555.
Crime Stoppers of Great Bend and Barton County allows people to call in anonymous tips to help solve area crimes. The calls are not recorded. Tipsters never give their names, but they may be eligible for a cash reward if the information leads to solving a crime.
