Driver rear-ends truck on U.S. 281

A 19-year-old Hoisington man sustained what was believed to be a minor injury Tuesday when the Dodge Caliber he was driving rear-ended another vehicle on U.S. 281, 5 miles south of Hoisington. Kansas Highway Patrol reports Kejlt Robert Michael Phillips was taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington after the 12:30 p.m. crash.

Phillips was driving the 2011 Dodge Caliber was behind a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado that was pulling a trailer and driven by John Morgan Hendershot, 21, of Little Hocking, Ohio. Hendershot slowed to make a left-hand turn and the Phillips vehicle struck the back of the trailer. Hendershot was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
