Ellsworth woman dies in rollover crash Wednesday
Kansas Highway Patrol

Sixty-three year old Janice Perkins of Ellsworth died Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on a county road south of Wilson.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Perkins was northbound on 105 Road in rural Ellsworth County near M Road when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the road to the east. Perkins over-corrected and her vehicle slid sideways and rolled, and Perkins was ejected from the vehicle. The Cherokee then rolled up the embankment, went through a wire fence, and came to rest upright in a pasture.

Perkins died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
