Engine trouble led to motorcycle crash
KHP patch

Two motorcycles collided at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, on a Barton County road after one developed mechanical problems and was sideswiped by the second, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Both drivers were traveling west on SW 50 Road. Cameron Scott Stevenson, 30, from Ellinwood, was driving a 1985 Harley-Davidson Super Glide that started to develop mechanical problems and he drove off onto SW 10 Ave. At that time he was sideswiped by a 2018 Indian Scout driven by Betsy Lenae Teegarden, 49, from Olathe.

The motorcycles came to rest within the intersection.

Both drivers were wearing helmets and eye protection. They both sustained what were believed to be minor injuries and were transported to the Ellinwood Hospital by private vehicle.
