Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Friday, seven Saturday and seven Sunday.

At 3:53 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to 1206 Morton St. when a vehicle hit a gas meter in the alley, causing a leak.

There was a small grass fire at 812 Patton Road at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and at 2:23 p.m. Sunday there were some trees on fire in the river, half a mile west of Stone Lake. Chief Mike Napolitano said it was difficult to gain access to that fire because of its location, so firefighters spent considerable time on the call.

Barton County Sheriff

Someone reportedly broke into Mo’s Place Grill & Brew Pub, 1908 Elm St., Beaver, sometime last Thursday night. Entry was gained by breaking a window. Candy bars and pop were taken.

A pickup collided with a turkey in the 300 block of NW 30 Ave. at 2:13 p.m. Saturday.

A lawn mower and several small items were taken from a storage shed at 646 South Main, Great Bend, it was reported Sunday.

A shed at 563 NW 20 Ave. was broken into, it was reported late Sunday. Copper and other items were taken.

Rebecca Kraisinger was backing a vehicle in the 1000 block of Odell St. at 11:40 a.m. Friday and struck a parked vehicle.

A 2000 Hyundai was taken from 1107 10th St. sometime in the last six months, it was reported Friday.

Someone poked a hole in the fuel line of a truck at 2545 10th St., it was reported Friday.

At 11:40 p.m. Friday, a vehicle driven by Natanael Moreno, Great Bend, was southbound in the 1100 block of Frey St. and struck two parked vehicles. Moreno was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, no driver’s license, inattentive driving and refusal of preliminary breath test. He was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.

A 1995 Ford Contour was stolen from Stone Lake, 2401 Railroad Ave., it was reported Saturday at 8:44 a.m. The car was located in an alley in the 2700 block of 21st St. at 9:04 a.m., and was released to its owner.

A motorist in a brown Ford truck reportedly left 1315 10th St. without paying for $60 worth of fuel, around 11:51 a.m. Saturday.

Theft of an air compressor and some hand tools from 1234 McKinley St. was reported Saturday.

A burglary at 720 Main No. 1 was reported at 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Someone broke into the house and took a PlayStation3 game system and other items. Loss was $310.

Someone broke the window to the front door at 1400 Tyler St., it was reported Sunday night.
