The Barton County Sheriff’s Office arrested and booked Doyle Stout of Great Bend Friday on a warrant for rape, in lieu of a $1 million bond.

According to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir, the warrant was issued by the Barton County Attorney’s office after a one and a half to two-month investigation by the BCSO.

Great Bend USD 428 initially made a report to law enforcement regarding the alleged rape of a minor child. BCSO investigated the case because the alleged victim lived in a rural Barton County area.

Once BCSO completed its investigation, the case was referred to the Barton County Attorney, and the Barton County attorney issued the warrant for Stout.

Bellendir stated the arrest was based off of that warrant.
