Hays man dies in head-on collision

A Hays man died Saturday in a head-on collision on K-14, 5 miles south of Ellsworth.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports that at 3:25 a.m. on Jan. 27, a northbound 2016 Ford F-250 truck driven by Dustin S. Karst, 39, of Hays, crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck an approaching semi pulling a tanker trailer. The driver, Brian K. Coleman, and passenger Tina Coleman, both of Tecumseh, Okla., sustained undetermined injuries and were taken to Salina Regional Health Center. Tina Coleman was in the sleeper at the time of the crash. KHP reports neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
Karst was pronounced dead at the scene.
